Jane Sutherland has been creating art works in oil, pastel, gouache and charcoal since the 1970’s. She chooses subjects from the known world or which suggest historical eras and she portrays them with meticulous attention to detail, organizing the minute changes and slight disparities in their surfaces into expressive relationships suggesting both interior and exterior realities.
